Video Editing: Overview

We knew the editing process was going to be the longest part of the project from the beginning. We decided that I would do the editing and the other members of the group would help make decisions as to whether sections looked good or not and what to change.

I'd not used the software before so it was made an even harder task but once I knew what to do, it became pretty simple. Whilst we were doing the editing, we changed the order of the video and some timings slightly as not all of our footage was good enough. At the start, we intended to have the band walking on but the footage we had was a bad quality and had stripes over it so we chose to begin with the grave and then switch to the band rather than the other way round.

Also whilst editing we decided to add some fading effects between some shot changes to show that they were a flashback, rather than a simple cut which wouldn't have made this as obvious. Overall, the editing took quite a long time but as a group, we thought the end product was the best we could achieve with the footage we had!
